Regina Lavetsky

Regina A. Lavetsky, 90, died Friday at Abington Manor. Her husband of 44 years, Bernard Lavetsky, died Oct. 26, 1990.

Born in Buffalo, N.Y., she was the daughter of the late Wallace and Evelyn Hoinski Zuchlewski. A graduate of Scranton Technical High School, she attended Scranton Penn State Extension and was a member of Marywood University Lifelong Learning Institute Program. She was also the former president of the Business and Professional Women's Association and retired as a legal secretary for attorney William Zacharellis.

She is survived by a son, John Lavetsky and wife, Lisa, Warrington, Bucks County; three daughters, Jean Manning and husband, Paul, North Abington Twp.; Bernadette Alford and husband, Michael, Framingham, Mass.; and Rose Weidner and husband, August, Columbia, Md.; 12 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Alfred Zuchlewski; and two sisters, Helen Zuchlewski and infant sister, Rita.

The funeral will be Tuesday with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. in Immaculate Heart of Mary Chapel, Oram Street, Scranton. Interment will follow in Cathedral Cemetery, Scranton.
