Robert Charles "Bob" Bogutsky, 65, of Kannapolis, N.C., died Sunday, April 21, 2013, at his home, after a lengthy illness, with his family by his side.
A memorial service to celebrate his life will be held at 2 p.m., Thursday, April 25, at Kimball Memorial Lutheran Church with the Rev. Dr. Richard Graf, Hospice Chaplain Ric Durham; and the Rev. Danny Wilson, officiating. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends at the church from 12:30 to 2 p.m. on Thursday before the memorial service.
Bob was born May 22, 1947 in Scranton, Pa., the son of the late Leo Paul and Norbertha Borkowski Bogutsky. He was a graduate of Scranton Technical High School, Penn State and State University of New York. Bob transferred to Charlotte, N.C., with IBM in 1977 and retired in 1997 after serving as a representative for International Marketing and Sales. He was a member of Kimball Memorial Lutheran Church in Kannapolis and a former member of Advent Lutheran Church in Charlotte.
Bob enjoyed reading, science fiction, traveling and refurbishing IBM Laptops and will always be remembered as a very generous person.
He will be greatly missed by those left to cherish his memory including, his wife, Frankie Triece Bogutsky of the home; his daughters, Colleen Bogutsky Fraser (David) of St. Petersburg, Fla.; and Wendy Baucom Ferguson (John) of Sherrills Ford, NC; and his sons, Jeffrey Bogutsky of the home (girlfriend Tori Nunn); and Christopher Baucom (Claudia) of Charlotte, CBC. His grandchildren are Patrick, Dylan and Heather Weber; Alex Fraser, Abby and Kate Ferguson; Savannah and Ella Baucom; and was looking forward to the birth of a new granddaughter in June.
