Robert Chelak Jr., 56, of Greenfield Twp., died Friday evening at Geisinger Community Medical Center, Scranton. He is survived by his loving wife, Darcy Howard Chelak. They would have celebrated 33 years of marriage in November.
Born in Scranton, son of Theresa Piernik Chelak, Dickson City, and the late Robert M. Chelak Sr., he graduated from Mid Valley High School in 1975, after attending Holy Ghost Parochial School. He received a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from Penn State University
. He was previously employed as an inspector with Building Inspection Underwriters and owner of R.M.C. Auto Sales.
Also surviving are two daughters, Dana and Dianne; a sister, Catherine; brothers, Mark and David; sister-in-law, Michele; niece, Brittney; aunt, Pearl Piernik; brother and sister-in-law, Donald and Maria Howard; and nephews, Andy and Danny Howard.
Friends may call Tuesday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Frank T. Mazur Funeral Home Inc., 601 Dundaff St., Dickson City. A blessing service will be held during the calling hours.
