Robert P. Jackson II

Robert P. Jackson II, 70, of Suscon, died at his home on Tuesday, March 18, 2014. He was born in Scranton, February 18, 1944, and was the son of the late Robert and Emma (Rose) Jackson.

Robert was a member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, Dupont. He was a 1963 graduate of Scranton Technical High School. He served in the U.S. Army and was stationed in Germany. Upon his discharge he was employed at Tobyhanna Army Depot as an engineer, and retired in 2004 after 40 years of service.

Robert was a member of the West Side Social Club, Avoca, the Polish American Citizens Club and the Dupont VFW. His true love of life were times spent with family and friends, the woods and the water. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, uncle, brother and friend and will be missed for several generations.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Gloria (Cocco), who died January 21, 2006.

Surviving are his son, Robert P. Jackson III and his wife, Michele of Bear Creek; daughters, Tammy O'Connor and her husband, Jim; and Dawn Jackson of Suscon; two sisters, Dorothy Callello of Scranton; and Jean Repa of Gouldsboro; a grandson, James Robert O'Connor, and granddaughter, Emily Gloria Jackson; several nieces and nephews; and his companion, Elaine Kasa.

Funeral services will be held Friday, March 21, at 9:30 a.m. from Kiesinger Funeral Services Inc., 255 McAlpine St., Duryea, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, Lackawanna Ave., Dupont, with Fr. Joseph Verespy officiating. Friends may call Thursday evening from 5-8 p.m. Interment will be held at St. Catherine's Cemetery, Moscow.
