Roberta LaMorte, 73, of Peckville, died Saturday at Hospice Community Care in Dunmore. She was the wife of Robert LaMorte; they had been married for 55 years.
Born in Peckville, daughter of the late David and Dorothy Giehl Evans, she was a former member of Peckville Assembly of God and attended Blakely High School. Roberta worked at the Billig Shoe Factory, Mid-Valley Hospital and General Machine Shop, all in Peckville.
She enjoyed doing needlepoint, and her favorite times were spent with her grandchildren. Roberta's family would especially like to thank Gloria Herrera for her friendship and care, also Robin from Southern Care Hospice and the staff at Hospice Community Care in Dunmore for its wonderful and compassionate care.
Also surviving are a daughter, Lori Wrobleski and husband, Dr. Garry Wrobleski Jr., Jefferson Twp.; three sons, Tim LaMorte, Dan LaMorte and Bobby LaMorte Jr., all of Peckville; a sister, Arlene Gaul, Scranton; a brother, Richard Evans, Florida; seven grandchildren, Timothy LaMorte Jr., Danielle LaMorte, Bobby LaMorte III, Nicole LaMorte, Garry Wrobleski III, Victoria Wrobleski and Justin LaMorte; a great-granddaughter, Mackenzie LaMorte; nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by a sister, Joan Vishnesky; and a brother, David Evans.
Services were held Monday at the convenience of the family, by the Rev. Jack Parry. Pallbearers: Timothy Jr. and Bobby III LaMorte, grandsons; Richard Evans, brother; Butch Barron, Len Grunza and Stephen Rose, nephews. Interment took place in Prospect Hill Cemetery in Peckville.
