Ronald P. Johnson Sr., 87, of Nicholson, died Monday at home. His wife, the former Janet Case, died in 2010.
Born in Springville, he was the son of the late Edward and Leila Button Johnson. Before retiring, he was employed by Universal Instruments in Binghamton, N.Y., as a machine operator. Ronald was a World War II
veteran, serving in the Army
He was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers and St. Louis Cardinals fan. He loved gardening and was famous for his raspberry jam. Ronald loved his family, children, grandchildren and also missed his wife.
He is survived by a son, Ronald Jr. and wife, Debbie, of Binghamton; two daughters, Yvonne Sincavish and husband, Tyre, West Nicholson; and Joan Johnson and companion, Jim Sincavish, Nicholson; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and his dog, Cuddles.
Ronald was also predeceased by two sons, James and Gary.
A funeral service with military honors will be Thursday at 7 p.m. in the Charles H. Litwin Funeral Home, 91 State St., Nicholson. The service will be conducted by Pastor Margaret Hartmann of First Presbyterian Church of Nicholson. Interment will be held in Lynn Cemetery.
