Rosella A. "Rose" Conforti of the Bellevue section of Scranton died Sunday at Regional Hospital of Scranton. She was the widow of Alfred Conforti, who died July 14, 1977.
Born in Hughestown, Luzerne County, daughter of the late Constantino and Mary Calantonio Conforti, she was a graduate of Old Forge High School and was a homemaker who dedicated her life to her husband and children. A member of Holy Cross Church before its closing, she was a member of St. Patrick's Church, West Scranton, and a former member of the American Ukrainian Veterans Association Ladies Auxiliary.
Rose was a loving wife, mom, grandma and friend to many. She had a passion for cooking, baking and a love for all animals and enjoyed all types of movies.
She is survived by five sons, Vince and wife, Caryl; John and wife, Rose; Eugene and wife, Sharon, all of Scranton; Jerry and wife, Marga, Taylor; and William and wife, Patricia, Mineral, Va.; two daughters, Barbara Nolan, Scranton; and Peggy Thys and husband, William, Elmwood Park, N.J.; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was also preceded in death by a son, Alfred Jr.; three brothers, Firovanti, Renato and Joseph Altobello; a sister, Sister Yolanda Altobello; and a son-in-law, Edward Nolan.
Rose's family would like to thank Dr. Kenneth H. Rudolph for the many years of kind and compassionate medical care given to their mom.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday at 11 a.m. in Immaculate Heart of Mary Chapel, Oram Street, Scranton. Interment will follow in Cathedral Cemetery, Scranton.
