Rosemary Perri

Rosemary Perri, 77, of Carbondale, died Wednesday morning at home. She was the wife of Anthony Perri, who died Feb. 8, 1965.

Born Feb. 9, 1937, in Carbondale, daughter of the late Nicholas and Jennie Cassaro Rocco, she was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, Carbondale, and a former member of its Altar and Rosary Society. She had been active with the ladies auxiliary of the former Carbondale General Hospital. Before retirement, she was employed at Cassaro's Dress Factory in Carbondale.

She was a caring, generous and loving person, who for 46 years, provided a home to more than 320 foster children.

The family would like to thank the nurses from Compassionate Care Hospice as well as her nieces, Crystal and Jessica, and nephew, John, for the kindness and loving care provided to Rosemary.

She is survived by six sons, Anthony Perri, Carbondale; Carmine Perri and wife, Jennifer, Greenfield Twp.; James Perri and wife, Patricia; Angelo Perri; and Ronald Perri and wife, Marlene, all of Carbondale; and Jayson Perri, Wilkes-Barre; five daughters, Frances Booths and husband, Russell, Waymart; Amy Weber and husband, Ken, Scranton; Jessica, Britney and Angel Perri, all of Carbondale; a brother, Dominick Rocco and wife, Antoinette, Throop; two sisters, Mary Ann Coleman and husband, James; and Elaine Barchak, all of Carbondale; 19 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.

She was also preceded in death by three sisters, Nicolina Pelick, Betty and Joann Rocco.

The funeral will be Saturday at 9 a.m. from the Carmine J. & Louis C. Parise Funeral Home and Cremation Services Inc., Farview and 41st streets, Carbondale, with Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 in St. Rose of Lima Church, Carbondale. Interment, Our Mother of Sorrows Cemetery, Finch Hill.
