Russell C. Bichler, 56, of Clarks Summit, died Saturday after being stricken ill. His wife of 34 years is Kimberly Fetzer Bichler.
Born in Scranton, he was the son of the late David and Virginia Mae Byrd Bichler. He was a graduate of Abington Heights High School and was employed as a parts clerk for Stadium International. He was a member of Abington Memorial VFW
Post 7069 and was an active member of the Tauras Club in Scranton for many years.
Russ enjoyed golfing, especially with his son, Russell, and traveling to Florida for vacations with his family.
Also surviving are a son, Russell, at home; brother, David and wife, Gayle, Waverly; two sisters, Beverly Peckham and husband, Robert, Carlisle; and Deborah Bichler and companion, Robert, Lake Winola; mother-in-law, Betty Fetzer, Clarks Summit; three nephews, Brandon Bichler, Nicholas Bichler and Mark Peckham and companion, Mandy, and their son, Dexter; four nieces, Heather Gatz and husband, Robert, and their son, Jason; Courtney Bichler, Amy Peskin and husband, Scott; and Robyn Ginther and her husband, Mark; and several cousins.
He was also preceded in death by a young sister, Joyce.
The funeral service will be Wednesday at 10 a.m. from the Lawrence E. Young Funeral Home and Cremation Services Inc., 418 S. State St., Clarks Summit. Interment will follow in Hickory Grove Cemetery, Waverly.
Friends will be welcomed on Tuesday from 4 to 8 p.m.
