Sabina Rose Perkoski

Sabina Rose Perkoski, 85, of Jermyn, died Monday at her residence. She was the widow of Edward Perkoski, who died in 1999.

Born in Mayfield on Oct. 6, 1927, daughter of the late Michael and Rose Kiehart Jura, she was a member of Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary Parish, Jermyn. Sabina love traveling with her husband, polka dancing and cooking, and was famous for her homemade chocolate chip cookies. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and GiGi.

The family would like to thank Dr. Jamie Hopkins, Dr. Arthur Myer and the nurses and staff of Regional Hospice, especially Donna Colburn.

Surviving are a daughter, Eileen and husband, John Van Nort, Forest City; two sisters, Veronica Vioncek, Eynon; and Honey Lapiers, Mayfield; three granddaughters, Valerie and Victoria Perkoski; and Sheila and husband, Jason Seliga; a great-grandson, Corey Seliga; several nieces and nephews.

She was also preceded in death by a son, Edward; a brother, William Jura; and two sisters; Anna and Frances Jura.

The funeral will be Thursday at 10 a.m. in Ryczak-Harrison Funeral Home Inc., 901 Lackawanna Ave., Mayfield, with a prayer service by the Rev. John O'Bell. Interment, Sacred Heart of Jesus Cemetery, Jermyn.
