Sandra Turbessi, 69, of West Scranton, died Wednesday at Regional Hospital of Scranton. Her husband is Joseph Turbessi. The couple celebrated their 50th anniversary in June 2012.
Born in Scranton, she was the daughter of the late Patrick and Ruth Ziegler Duffy, and was a member of St. Patrick's Church, West Scranton. A graduate of St. Ann's High School, she was employed as a Health Care assistant at Scranton Manor.
Sandra was a deeply loving wife, mother and grandmother, whose greatest joy in life was playing with her grandchildren. She also loved cooking family dinners and going to yard sales. She will be deeply missed, but always fondly remembered by all who knew and loved her.
Also surviving are four sons, Chris and wife, Colleen, Tunkhannock; Raymond and wife, Brenda; David and wife, Pam, both of Dickson City; Joseph and wife, Susan, Cornwall Bridge, Conn.; two sisters, Patricia Rosato and husband, Paul, Scranton; and Ruth Leombruni and husband, Arch, Horsham; one brother, Michael Duffy and wife, Cheryl, Scranton; 12 grandchildren, Joe, Stacey, Jennifer, Jamie, Ashley, Ryan, Kyle, Tyler, Kira, Kory, Kailey and David; five great-grandchildren, Nicholas, Samantha, Bentley, Jacob, and Hailey; nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be Monday at 10:15 a.m. from the Neil W. Regan Funeral Home Inc., 1900 Pittston Ave., Scranton, followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 11 in St. Patrick's Church, 1403 Jackson St., Scranton. Interment, Cathedral Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home Sunday, 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
