Sarah T. McNeil, 94, formerly of Palm Street in South Scranton, died Thursday after an illness at Riverside Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Taylor.
Born in South Scranton, she was the daughter of the late John and Mary Gallagher McNeil. A graduate of Scranton Technical High School, she was employed at Snyder Cigar Co. until retirement. She was a lifelong member of St. John the Evangelist Church, now St. Paul of the Cross Parish.
Sarah was a woman of great faith and unending devotion to her family. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
The family would like to express its gratitude to the staff at Riverside Nursing and Rehabilitation Center for the kind and compassionate care they provided for Sarah.
Surviving are two nephews, Bill Foley, Scranton; and John McGreevy, Clarks Summit; a niece, Marihelen Cerra and husband, Bruce, New Jersey; and a great-niece, Kathleen Vancheri and husband, Nicholas, New Jersey.
She was also preceded in death by two sisters, Elizabeth McGreevy and Mary Foley; a brother, Thomas McNeil; and a niece, Virginia Levandoski.
Friends may join the family Monday for Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary Church, 1217 Prospect Ave., Scranton, celebrated by the Rev. Scott Sterowski, pastor. Interment will follow in Cathedral Cemetery, Scranton.
There will be no public calling hours.
