Theodore G. "Ted" Vitaletti, 67, of Scranton, passed away on Wednesday, April 16, 2014, surrounded by his family. His wife is the former Barbara Jenkins. The couple would have celebrated their 48th wedding anniversary on September 10.
Born in Peckville, son of the late Tersilio and Velia Smargassi Vitaletti, he was a graduate of West Scranton High School, class of 1964. Ted was a member of the Army Reserve 365th division. Recently he retired from National Bakery after 50-plus years. In his spare time he enjoyed fishing and hunting and long walks at Nay Aug Park with his beloved dogs, Shelly and Keely. His garden was one of his pride and joys.
Ted's family would like to give a special thanks to Dr. Jacqueline Lee and the ICU Staff at Geisinger Wyoming Valley Hospital.
Also surviving are his three daughters "the 3 P's," Pamela Krupski and husband, Alex; Patricia Vitaletti; and Paula Guse and husband, John; brother, Dr. Robert Vitaletti and partner, Joseph Moore, Denver; six grandchildren, AJ and Allison Krupski, Evan Vitaletti, Lyssa, Matthew and Quinn Guse; several cousins, aunts and uncles.
A blessing service will be conducted Saturday at 10 a.m. in the Solfanelli-Fiorillo Funeral Home Inc., 1030 North Main Ave. Interment at Cathedral Cemetery will be private at the convenience of the family.
