Theresa Rafalko, 96, a resident of St. Mary's Villa, Elmhurst, died Tuesday at Moses Taylor Hospital. She was preceded in death by her husband, Casimir Rafalko.
Born in Old Forge on New Year's Day, 1918, daughter of the late John and Pauline Staskiewicz, Theresa retired from her career as a seamstress in local sewing factories. Of Catholic faith, she was a longtime member of SS. Peter and Paul Church in West Scranton.
She is survived by her daughter, Barbara Simms, Florida, N.Y.; three grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Michaeline Balon; and brothers, Felix and Edward Staskiewicz.
A blessing service by the Rev. Sam Ferretti and Deacon Carmine Mendicino is scheduled for Tuesday at 10 a.m. at the Kevin K. Kearney Funeral Home Inc., 125 N. Main Ave., Scranton. Interment, SS. Peter and Paul Parish Cemetery.
Relatives and friends may pay their respects on Tuesday from 9 until services.
