Thomas E. Kashuba Jr., 56, of Scranton, died Saturday evening at Geisinger Community Medical Center. His wife of 35 years is the former Patricia Blasko.
Born in Scranton, he was the son of the late Thomas E. and Clare C. Metro Kashuba. He was a graduate of West Scraton High School, class of 1974. Before his disability, Tom worked for McKinney Manufacturing for many years. He was a member of St. Mary of the Assumption Byzantine Catholic Church and SS. Peter and Paul Roman Catholic Church, both of Scranton.
His family was the center of his life, especially his grandchildren, whom he adored. He was happiest when with his grandchildren. He enjoyed taking his dog, Abbey, for walks. She was his constant companion and he loved being outdoors. Tom will always be remembered for his ability to fix things to perfection.
Also surviving are two daughters, Stefanie Pellegrino and husband, Carmine, Roaring Brook Twp.; and Melissa Pellegrino and husband, Gerry, Manassas, Va.; three grandchildren, Sofia and twins, Gabriella and Domenico; a sister, Laurie Smith and husband, William, Oneida, Tenn.; his mother-in-law, Delores Wagner Blasko, Scranton; brothers-in-law; sisters-in-law; aunts, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was also preceded in death by an infant daughter, Jennifer Lynn, on Sept. 16, 1980.
The funeral will be Thursday at 11:30 a.m. from the Semian Funeral Home, 704 Union St., Taylor, followed by Mass of Christian Burial at noon in SS. Peter and Paul Church, 1309 W. Locust St. Interment, Cathedral Cemetery, Scranton.
