Timothy P. Calpin, 58, of Madera, Calif., died Monday at his residence of apparent heart failure.
Born in Scranton, son of William J. Calpin and Catherine Poplar, he graduated from Central High School. Having worked for 40 years in the concrete block business, his most recent position was as plant manager for Oldcastle Precast in Madera.
Tim was a Harley-Davidson enthusiast and loved riding his motorcycle. He enjoyed, above all, spending time with the people he cared about. He was a true friend, a loving son and father to three children, Tim Calpin of Los Angeles; Casey Calpin of Boulder, Colo.; and Kelley Buesse and husband, Kevin, of Aurora, Ill.; and a grandson, Sean Buesse. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
Also surviving are two sisters, Catherine Davis of Chicago; and Bridget Halloran and her husband, Joseph, of Clarks Summit; two brothers, William J. Calpin Jr. and his wife, Susan, of Dunmore; and Patrick Calpin of Scranton; seven nieces and nephews, Kristen Michalak, Chicago; Jason Hodge, St. Louis; Megan Hughes, Clarks Summit; Maggie Hemak, Jessup; Siobhan Halloran, Davis, Calif.; Maeve Halloran, New York City; and Amelia Halloran, Clarks Summit.
He was also preceded in death by a brother, Sean Calpin; and a niece, Molly Calpin.
The funeral will be Monday in the Neil W. Regan Funeral Home Inc., 1900 Pittston Ave., with services at 9:30 a.m. by the Rev. Arthur Davis, pastor of Asbury United Methodist Church, Scranton. Interment Cathedral Cemetery, Scranton.
Friends may call on Sunday from 2 to 5 p.m. at the funeral home.
