Tricia M. Sheehan of Dunmore died Thursday at Geisinger Community Medical Center after a long, courageous battle with multiple sclerosis.
Born in Scranton, daughter of Robert F. Sheehan and Patricia O'Connell Sheehan of Dunmore, she was a graduate of Dunmore High School and a dean's list student at Penn State University
Her daughter was the love of her life. Tricia's disease never held her back from teaching her daughter how to play sports and cheer, activities that she was involved in herself in high school. She was The Times-Tribune Mother of the Year in 2007. She will be remembered for her infectious smile and her love of family and friends.
Also surviving are a daughter, Alyssa M. Sheehan of Dunmore; a brother, Rob and wife, Samantha Sheehan, Montgomery County, Md.; two sisters, Erin and husband, Gregori Anelli, Moscow; and MaryEllen and husband, Michael Elia, Moscow; several nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.
The funeral will be Tuesday from the Albert P. O'Donnell Funeral Home, 2025 Green Ridge St., Dunmore, with Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. in St. Mary of Mount Carmel Church, 322 Chestnut St., Dunmore. Interment will be private. All those attending the funeral should go directly to the church on Tuesday morning.
