Valeria Faltynowicz, 89, of Dickson City, died Thursday morning at home. She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Faltynowicz, on Nov. 28, 2002.
Born in Dickson City, daughter of the late Joseph and Tessie Siarkewicz Novak, she was a member of St. Mary's Visitation Church, Dickson City, and a former member of its Christian Mothers Society. She graduated from Dickson City High School. Before retirement, she worked as a seamstress in the local garment industry.
She was a loving and caring mother, grandmother, sister and aunt, who enjoyed bingo and time with her family. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends.
Surviving are three sons, Walter Faltynowicz Jr., Lake Carey; Joseph Faltynowicz and wife, Mary, Dickson City; and Gary Faltynowicz, Dickson City; a daughter-in-law, Beverly Faltynowicz, Florida; grandchildren, Donna Faltynowicz and companion, Andy Marcinko; and Brian and Joseph Faltynowicz; great-grandchildren; a sister, Theresa Kruskinsky, Dickson City; nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by a son, Richard Faltynowicz; brothers, Walter, Stanley, Tony and Joseph Novak; and a sister, Dolores Gregorowicz.
The funeral will be Monday at 8:30 a.m. from the Frank T. Mazur Funeral Home Inc., 601 Dundaff St., Dickson City, with Mass at 9 in St. Mary's Visitation Church. Entombment, St. Mary's Cemetery, Dickson City.
