Vera Salzarulo

Vera Salzarulo, 84, formerly of the Bunker Hill section of Dunmore, died Saturday at the home of her daughter in Nanticoke. Her husband, Nicholas E. Salzarulo, died in 2000.

Born in Scranton, she was the daughter of the late Peter and Clara Borromei Petrucci. She was a member of SS. Anthony and Rocco Parish, Dunmore, and was formerly employed by Linder Bros.

She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who will be deeply missed. The family would like to thank Caregivers of America Hospice for the wonderful care given to Vera.

Surviving are a daughter, Patricia Lakatos and husband, Ray, with whom she resided, Nanticoke; a granddaughter, Anne Marie Murray and husband, John; a grandson, Nicholas Capozzi and wife, Rebekah; nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Leo and Ivo Petrucci.

The funeral will be Wednesday at 8:45 a.m. from the August J. Haas Funeral Home Inc., 202 Pittston Ave., Scranton, with Mass at 9:30 in St. Rocco's Church, Dunmore, to be celebrated by the Rev. James Nash, pastor, St. Faustina Kowalska Parish, Nanticoke. Interment, Italian-American Cemetery, Minooka section, Scranton.

Friends may call Tuesday from 4 to 7 p.m.
