Victoria E. Cusick

Victoria E. Cusick, 95, of Scranton, died Wednesday after an illness. She was the widow of Daniel J. Cusick Sr., who died in March 1990.

Born in Scott Twp., she was the daughter of the late George and Katherine Kosydar. A graduate of Clarks Summit High School and Keystone College, before her retirement she was employed as a medical secretary in the office of Dr. Elliott Freedman.

Victoria was a devout Catholic and very active in all church activities at the former St. Vincent de Paul Church, where she was a member for many years. She was also a member and former president of the Legion of Mary, 1600 Club, Tauras Club and Mary, Mother of God Parish.

She swam at the YWCA and at Weston Field, an activity she enjoyed well into her 80s. She was loved and will be missed by all who knew her.

Surviving are a daughter, Vicki Chrzan, Throop; a son, Daniel Cusick Jr., Scranton; three grandchildren, Anthony Chrzan, Victoria Chrzan and Daniel C. Cusick; a great-grandchild, Adam Cusick; several nieces and nephews.

She was also preceded in death by four brothers, Michael, Joseph, John and Anthony Kosydar; and two sisters, Mary Jasiorkowski and Helen Yanchack.

The funeral will be Monday from the Solfanelli-Fiorillo Funeral Home Inc., 1030 N. Main Ave., Scranton, with Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. in Mary, Mother of God Parish at Holy Rosary Church, 316 William St., Scranton. Interment, Cathedral Cemetery, Scranton.
