Violet Brown, 91, of Luray, Va., formerly of Clarks Summit, died Tuesday in Luray. She was the widow of Jesse Clark Brown, who died Feb. 3, 1984.
Born May 14, 1921, in Scranton, she was the daughter of the late Daniel and Bessie Williams Coleman.
Surviving are three daughters, Jessica Coleman Brown Ressler, Luray; Suzanne Polinchock, Bloomsburg; and Betsy DeCandis, Jacksonville, Fla.; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; three sisters, Mary Thorpe, Scranton; Ruth Fields, Carlisle; and Betty Kester, Clarks Summit; nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by a brother, Jack Coleman; and two sisters, Alverda Layland and Cora Hobbs.
The funeral will be Saturday at 11 a.m. in the Bomberger-Lesko Funeral Home Inc., 1660 N. Main Ave., Scranton. The family will receive friends 10 to service time. Burial will follow in Abington Hills Cemetery.
