Virginia P. Froncek, 73, of Jessup, died Saturday at Regional Hospital of Scranton. She was the widow of Matthew John Froncek, who died March 31, 2008.
Born in St. Pauls, N.C., daughter of the late Fanny Cain, she was employed as a nurse's aide at the Gino J. Merli Veterans Center and the Jewish Home until her husband's illness. She resided in Jessup for many years and was of the Protestant faith.
She loved her trips to the many casinos with her husband, and cherished her children and grandchildren. She always had a kind word for everyone with whom she came into contact.
She is survived by a daughter, Shirley Black and husband, Richard, Honesdale; two sons, Ed Lepri, Wayne, N.J.; and Frank Lepri and wife, Deb, Ellington, Conn.; two grandchildren, William Hebner, Carbondale; and Jill Hebner and companion, Iver Iverson; and a great-grandson, Liam John Hebner.
She was preceded in death by a brother and several sisters.
The family would like to thank Dr. Michael Gilhooley and his staff for their kindness and care of their mother.
The funeral will be Wednesday at the Louis M. Margotta Funeral Home, 511 Church St., Jessup, with services at 10 a.m., by the Rev. Margaret Hartman. Entombment, Our Mother of Sorrows Cemetery, Finch Hill. Friends may call Tuesday from 4 to 8 p.m.
