Vivian Pitoniak, 87, of Olyphant, died Tuesday at Mountain View Care Center. Her husband, Albert J. Pitoniak Sr., died on Oct. 30, 1998.
Born in Peckville, she was the daughter of the late Livingston and Myral Tressler Dennis. She was a member of Queen of Angels Parish, Jessup, and attended Blakely Schools. Before retirement, she worked at Daystrom in Eynon and Supermarket Services in Dunmore.
She was an avid bingo player and enjoyed her trips to the casinos, and also loved playing cards with her family. She was a caring, compassionate and loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend, who worked hard all her life and will be sadly missed by those who knew her.
The family would like to thank the staff at Life Geisinger and Mountain View Care Center, especially Dr. Collier, for the outstanding care and love they gave to Vivian.
Surviving are a daughter, Donna Pitoniak and fiancée, Tony Jobson, Brewerton, N.Y.; four sons, Albert Pitoniak Jr. and wife, Donna, North Syracuse, N.Y.; Dennis Pitoniak and companion, Janice Karas, Orlando, Fla.; Richard Pitoniak and wife Barbara, Jessup; and Mark Pitoniak and wife, Judy, Thornhurst; two brothers, Livingston Dennis, Central Square, N.Y.; and Byron Dennis, Peckville; 16 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by a sister, Wanda Dennis; and two brothers, George and Mickey Dennis.
The funeral will be Saturday with Mass at 9:30 a.m. in Queen of Angels Parish at St. Michael's Church, Jessup. Interment will be at Valley View Memorial Park, Montdale.
