William "Billy" Cannon of West Scranton, formerly of Taylor, died Sunday afternoon in Allied Skilled Nursing Facility.
Born in Scranton, son of the late William and Glenys Carpenter Cannon, he was educated in Scranton schools and was a graduate of West Scranton High School, class of 1963. He was formerly employed by the New York Susquehanna and Western Railroad known as the "Suzie Q" of Cooperstown, N.Y.
He was an avid outdoorsman who loved to fish and hunt. He enjoyed all types of music, especially the oldies, and was an expert in naming the tune and the artist. He was devoted to his dog, Chloe. He will be sadly missed by his family and friends.
Surviving are two sons, Bill, Scranton; and Ryan, Taylor; two daughters, Holly, Georgia; and Dawn, Scranton; three grandchildren, Geoffrey, Ariana and Anthony; and three great-grandchildren, Trevan, Ziah and Lilyanna.
Friends may call Wednesday, 5 to 8 p.m., at Carl J. Savino Funeral Home, 157 S. Main Ave., Scranton. A blessing service will be held at 8. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Bill's son, Ryan Cannon, to help pay for medical expenses.
