Florence Mullen Obituary
Born in Scranton, she was the daughter of the late Dominick and Florence Santaniello Lanzo and a graduate of West Scranton High School.
Prior to retirement, Flossie was the owner and operator of Flo's Beauty Salon in Clarks Summit.
Devoted to her faith, Flossie was dedicated to St. Lucy's Church, West Scranton, and was a member of its Altar and Rosary Society, where she served as the treasurer. She was involved with all church activities and, for many years, she hosted the church summer picnics at her home.
She had her own designated area known as Flossie's Coffee Corner, in Mother Cabrini Hall of the church, where she provided coffee and her homemade pizzelle.
Flossie was very generous and hardworking, and will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
She is survived by her sisters, Antoinette Martino and husband, James, Scranton; Delores Aiello and husband, Tom, Milton, Pa.; brothers, Michael Lanzo and wife, Rose, Scranton; and Dominick Lanzo and wife, Ann Boylan-Lanzo, Scranton; as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins, including her niece, Maria Martino Kovatch, Mechanicsburg, who she treated like a daughter.
She was also preceded in death by her nephew, Tommy Aiello.
Due to the current health crisis, a private burial will take place in Cathedral Cemetery, Scranton.
In lieu flowers, donations may be made to St. Lucy's Church, 949 Scranton St., Scranton, PA 18504.

Cousin Florence, your smile was always a welcome site, and most of the time, no reason to smile, prompted an instant reciprocal smile, and thats what made you so lovable. Your perpetual smile and gracious personality will be deeply missed by all that you have generously invited into your life, and I am honored that myself and my family were included in your circle. Dear Cousin Florence, with the name that means flowering in bloom and that's the way she was all the time. It is hard to imagine you are no longer here. I loved Florence dearly and am happy to know she is now at peace. I have known Florence since she first began dating my cousin, Gary decades ago. They were the perfect couple--very much in love and totally dedicated to each other. They shared a deep and abiding love. I know that Florence and Gary are together again in heaven, and I rejoice in that. I am sending much love to both of them and my deepest sympathy to their families.

Florence was a wonderful person. She was kind and compassionate, and most at home with her loving husband, Gary. I am sure they have been reunited in heaven. Theirs was a true love story. May God bless them both. My sincere sympathy to Florence's family.

Oh so many memories.......
Some of the best times of my life were spent growing up together.
We had so much fun just being together. Sometimes it was as simple as sitting around the kitchen table with a few members of the family and taking turns putting one of us "on the pan" in a good natured way and laughing uncontrollably. Sometimes it was going to the same movie for the second or third time because Florence wanted to see one of her favorites - Heston, Peck or McQueen- for the second or third time.
We shared so many good times as well as sad times, but this is by far the saddest. You left us and we couldn't even say good-bye and a piece of our heart went along with you.

Dear Lanzo Family... Sincerely regret hearing of the loss of your dear sister,Florence. My memory of her is very clear to me. She was a very happy, and kind person who loved her family and the special times they spent together. May you know that there are those of us who understand how you feel, and care.
