Agnes Ercoli, 96, a lifelong resident of Jessup, died Friday morning under the care of the VNA Hospice Inpatient Unit at Geisinger Community Medical Center in Scranton. She was preceded in death in 1984 by her beloved husband, Charles Ercoli.

Born on June 14, 1917, daughter of the late Lewis and Mary Kordish Sylvester, Agnes was educated in Jessup schools and worked for Daystrom for 25 years.

Agnes and her husband, Charles, had a beautiful marriage, traveled to many places, and had the pleasure of staying with relatives as they toured Italy. Cruises, however, were their favorite means of travel. After Charles passed, Agnes continued to travel with friends and family, especially Norma Tosti. Agnes was ready to travel in a minute's notice, whether it was a new ship or flying to Las Vegas to check out a new hotel.

She traveled until she was ninety years old and never had a bad trip.

Affectionately known as Zia by her nieces and nephews, you could always count on Zia to be in your corner and lend a helping hand.

Agnes is survived by two nieces, Donna Ercoli Marzani and Gail Ercoli; two great-nephews, Jeremy Marzani and wife, Sara Kelly, Austin, Texas; and Jerad Lippi, New York City; two great-great-nephews, Jackson and Benjamin; and several cousins.

The family wishes to thank all who have cared for Agnes throughout her life and illness.

The funeral will be Tuesday with Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. in Queen of Angels Parish at St. Michael's Church, First Avenue, Jessup. Interment, St. John's Cemetery, Jessup.

Anyone attending the funeral is asked to go directly to the church on Tuesday morning.

Relatives and friends may call on Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Arthur A. Albini Funeral Home, 1003 Church Street, Jessup.
