Alexander J. Ogrodoski, a resident of Gino J. Merli Veterans Center, died Friday afternoon at Regional Hospital of Scranton.

Alex was born in Scranton on August 1, 1948, the beloved son of the late Alexander J. Ogrodoski and Frances Mushinsky Ogrodoski. He graduated from Throop High School and attended County College of Morris in Randolph, N.J. Alex was a veteran of the Air Force and was last employed at OMS in Elmira Heights, N.Y., as a courier. He was a former member of St. Bridget's Church, Throop.

He is survived by two sisters, Rosalie Gombar of Lititz, Pa.; and Patricia and her companion, Thomas Gates of Scranton; a nephew, John A. of Las Vegas; a niece, Suzanne of Lititz; and a great-niece, Alexandra White, also of Lititz. Also surviving are many cousins, including Frank Harchar and wife, Sonja; and loyal friend, Robert Cupina and wife, Penny.

The funeral will be Tuesday at 9 a.m. from the John F. Glinsky Funeral Home, 445 Sanderson St., Throop, with Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 in Blessed Sacrament Parish at St. Anthony's Church, Throop. Burial will be private in St. Catherine's Cemetery.
