Andrew Koscho Jr., 79, Bristol, Conn., died Tuesday night at the Bristol Hospital following a brief illness. He and his wife, Pauline Adamcik Koscho, recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary.

Born in Jessup, he was the son of the late Andrew and Anna Havrilla Koscho. He was raised in Sturges and was a graduate of Archbald High School, class of 1952, where he lettered in football. He loved his country and served in the Army, Following his honorable discharge, he was transferred to the Army Reserve. He was employed by General Motors for 37½ years in both Clark, N.J., and Bristol, Conn. A resident of Bristol for the past 31 years, he was a member of Holy Trinity Byzantine Catholic Church in New Britain and was a proud union member of the United Automobile Workers Local 626.

He was a hardworking family man who was a devoted husband, father and grandfather and enjoyed spending time with his family. Andrew also enjoyed gardening, music and was an avid sports fan.

Andrew's family would like to thank the staff at Bristol Hospital for their loving care and support.

Also surviving are a daughter, Stephanie K. Beals; a son, Andrew John Koscho and wife, Tracy; three grandsons, Alan Jeffrey Beals Jr., Andrew John Koscho Jr. and Jake Ryan Koscho, all of Bristol; a sister, Marianne Cherney and husband, Gerald, Jessup; nieces and nephews.

He was also preceded in death by a sister, Ann Luchansky; and three brothers, Michael, John and Stephen Koscho.

The funeral will be Monday at 10:30 a.m. from the Arthur A. Albini Funeral Home, 1003 Church St., Jessup, with Office of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. in Holy Ghost Byzantine Catholic Church, 313 First Ave., Jessup. Interment with military honors in parish cemetery, Jessup.

Relatives and friends may call on Sunday from 2 to 5 p.m., with Parastas at 2.
