Andrew L. "Doc" Kobylash, 87, of Eynon, died Friday at the Mid-Valley Hospital. His wife was the former Rose Konasavage, who died September 2002.

Born in Sturges, son of the late Andrew and Frances Grzesik Kobylarz, he was a member of Christ the King Parish at St. Mary's of Czestochowa Church in Eynon. Andy attended Blakely schools and he was a member of the Wilson Fire Company in Peckville for more than 50 years. Before retirement he worked at Mid-Valley Textile, Peckville.

Doc was a quiet man who loved his garden and his daily visit to the Wilson Fire Company. He enjoyed family visits and holiday gatherings.

Surviving are two brothers, Rudolph Kobylarz, Garfield, N.J.; and the Very Rev. Joseph Kobylarz, Chicago; a sister, Sophie Budjinsky, Clifton, N.J.; nieces and nephews.

He was also preceded in death by siblings, Stanley, John, Edward, Lillian and Helen.

The funeral will be Monday with Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. in Christ the King Parish at St. Mary's of Czestochowa Church, Eynon. Interment will be in Valley View Memorial Park, Montdale. Friends and family are asked to go directly to the church on the morning of the funeral.

Friends may call Sunday from 3 to 5 p.m. at the Robert E. Decker Funeral Home, 702 River St. Peckville. Members of the fire company will meet at the funeral home Sunday at 4:30 for services.
