Andrew W. Leo, 74, of Carbondale, died Friday at Regional Hospital of Scranton. His wife is the former Judith Cuff. They would have celebrated their 50th anniversary in November.

Born in Carbondale, son of Margaret Ciance Leo and the late Carmine "Bootsie" Leo, he was a member of St. Rose of Lima Church, Carbondale. Andrew obtained a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from the University of Scranton and a Master of Science degree from the University of Buffalo. He taught physics, calculus, sciences and mathematics in the Forest City and Carbondale Area school districts. He also was head golf coach and assistant football coach during title seasons at Carbondale Area. He was a passionate Penn State fan and season ticket holder. He was also an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan. Andrew was just a big kid who enjoyed doing puzzles and watching comedies and was an avid, competitive and exceptional golfer.
Also surviving are two sons, Andrew J. Leo, Scranton; and David C. Leo, Carbondale; and several cousins.
The funeral will be Tuesday with Mass at 9:30 a.m. in St. Rose of Lima Church. Interment, Our Mother of Sorrows Cemetery, Finch Hill.
Friends may call Monday, 4 to 8 p.m., at the Lawrence A. Gabriel Funeral Home, 2 Hospital St., Carbondale.
