Anna C. Michael, 78, of Dickson City, died Saturday evening at Moses Taylor Hospital. She was preceded in death by her former husband, Edward A. Michael.

Born in Dickson City, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Fannie Rock Byers and was a member of St. Thomas the Apostle Church, Dickson City. She was graduated from Dickson City High School and Madame Fenwek School of Beauty.
She was employed as a beautician and seamstress before becoming a loving and caring stay-at-home mom who enjoyed being with her children. She worked as a cook and housekeeper for the Rev. Patrick Healey at St. Thomas the Apostle Church before retirement. Anna was a member of Jessup Senior Center and the Red Hat Society. She loved animals, especially her cat, Smokey, who was her faithful companion, who loved her dearly and was always at her side.
Surviving are two daughters, Linda Lukasik and husband, Anthony Sr., Dickson City; and Susan Marchines and husband, Leonard Jr., Port St. Lucie, Fla., formerly of Dickson City; and several nieces.
She was also preceded in death by three brothers, Joseph, Samuel and John Byers; and two sisters, Florence and Carmella Byers.
The funeral will be private at the convenience of the family from the Frank T. Mazur Funeral Home Inc., 601 Dundaff St., Dickson City. There will be no public calling hours.
