Anthony John Cox, 19, a lifelong resident of Scranton, died Tuesday morning at home.

Born in Scranton, son of John A. Cox IV, Spring Lake, Fla., and Karen Burke, Johnstown, he attended Scranton High School.

He loved his family and his family loved him; he will be missed. He enjoyed fishing with his dad, had a passion for music, creating beats and raps. He was athletic, enjoyed playing football and especially loved to play baseball.

Also surviving are two children, Nevaeh Cox, Scranton; and Natalie Kozlowski Cox, Scranton; four sisters, Samantha Burke, Ohio; Chelsea Cox, Virginia Cox and Isabella Cox, all of Maine; paternal grandmother, Linda Bird Kalinch, her husband and his stepgrandfather, William Kalinch, Moosic; paternal grandfather, John A. Cox, III and wife, Natasha, Sebring, Fla.; paternal great-grandfather, John A. Cox II and wife, Cheryl, Ocala, Fla.; aunt, Laura Royce, Scranton; uncles, Richard Cox, Scranton; and Carlos Reales, Scranton; his companion, Amanda Bordo, Scranton; aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was also preceded in death by paternal great-grandparents, Virginia and Clarence Bird; a cousin, Joe Bird; and a nephew, Nathaniel Royce Reales.

Funeral services will be Friday at 6 p.m. in the Miller Bean Funeral Home Inc., 436 Cedar Ave., Scranton. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family.
