Armillie Corey of Union Dale died Friday morning at the VNA Hospice Unit at Geisinger Community Medical Center, Scranton. She was the wife of Orson Corey, who died Jan. 5, 2005.

Born in Nicholson, she was the daughter of the late Harry and Armillie Ross Decker. She was a member of the Union Dale United Methodist Church, where she was a Sunday school teacher, a member of the choir and director of the junior choir. She was a charter member of the Lenoxville Band and a former EMT for the Union Dale Volunteer Ambulance Corps. Before her retirement, she was the manager of the J.J. Newberry's store, Forest City.
Surviving are two sons, Gene Corey and wife, Bonnie, Spring Brook Twp.; and Desmond Corey and wife, Linda, Union Dale; two brothers, Berdon and Roland Decker, both of Lenoxville; a sister-in-law, Katherine Decker, Missouri ; nine grandchildren, Tirzah Corey; Krista Hollis and husband, Dan; Jessica Corey; Orey Corey; Desmond Corey Jr.; Virginia Goller; Samuel Corey; Nina Corey; and Kent Corey; seven great-grandchildren, Danny Hollis, Alyssa Corey, Victoria Corey, Jordan Clapper, Shawny Matoshek, Joseph Matosek and Caleb Corey; several nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by one brother, Arthur Decker; and one sister, Lucy Helen Curtis.
The funeral service will be Tuesday at 10 a.m. in the Jones and Brennan Funeral Home, 430 Main St., Forest City, with services by the Rev. Susan Hardman-Zimmerman. Interment at a later date in Union Dale Cemetery.
