Austin Bumbarger Obituary
Born Jan. 6, 2000, in Scranton, Pa., he was the son of Travis A. Bumbarger of Peckville and the late Amy (Mueller) Bumbarger. He was a freshman at Valley View High School.
It is often said the brightest stars are those who shine for the benefit of others. Austin was a fun-loving, silly kid who put a smile on the faces of all who knew him. He was the type of person who would help anyone. The love he had for his family was obvious to all. He adored his friends and their families, and loved spending time with them. Austin especially loved his little brother, Patrick, and his niece, Lily. He was excited to teach Patrick all about cars and fishing. He was looking forward to taking both Patrick and Lily camping.
Austin loved being outdoors, camping, fishing, bonfires, skateboarding or just hanging with his friends. Austin was an avid San Francisco 49ers football fan. Cars were his passion. Austin and his father would go every Father's Day to the Nay Aug car show, where he took dozens of photos of his favorite cars. Last August, Austin attended his first-ever live race at Pocono Raceway. Pursuing his passion and dreams, Austin was accepted into CTC for auto repair for the next school year with the goal of working in a NASCAR garage some day.
Surviving in addition to his father are his stepmother, Lauren (Kelly) Bumbarger; his sister, Krystin M. Bumbarger; and brother, Patrick A. Bumbarger; paternal grandparents, Leo and Margaret Holzman, Elmhurst Twp.; maternal grandparents, Elizabeth "Beth" Connors, Washington, Maine; and John Mueller, Moosic, Pa.; stepgrandparents, James and Dorothy Kelly, Greentown, Pa.; aunts, Jennifer Krzan and husband, Kevin; Danielle C. Frey and husband, Christopher; uncles, James Bailor and wife, Mary; Michael Bailor and fiancée, Michelle; and Corey Gordon and Brian Kelly; his niece, Lily Walsh; and cousins.
Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday at 8 p.m. in the Peckville Assembly of God Church, 3364 Business Route 6 Highway, Blakely, Pa.
Friends will be received Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the church. Interment will be conducted privately at the convenience of the family.
Memorial contributions may be made to a memorial fund in Austin's memory to be announced.

soon it´ll be 7 years. 7 years of ur family & our friends missing u. i miss ur hugs & walking out of school together, arms locked & walking to the buses. i miss meeting up outside my house, going to pop pops or the park, the library even. we always made it fun somehow.
i can´t wait to see u in the next life, but i would give anything to have u back in this one.

To all the friends and family members of Austin-
The loss of Austin absolutely breaks our hearts. We can not express how sad we all are at the loss of such a bright and wonderful young man.
I sincerely hope that all who read this will stop and say a prayer for Austin and the many many people who grieve him. A loss like this is just so unbelievably difficult.
I pray that all who are hurting will be comforted by the love of God almighty. May the soul of Austin rest in the eternal bliss of Heaven for all of eternity.

I just wanted to say that I am extremely sorry for your loss. I personally didn't know him ,but he was friends with my daughter and she spoke very highly of him! I can say I know what you and your family are going threw cause I just lost my 19 year old son on May 23, 2015. What may help and it kinda helps me threw it is just know that he is watching over you now and he is having the time of his life in the most wonderful place and that he will never feel pain, sorrow, sickness, or any more evil. He is always and forever with you no matter where you are or where you go he will follow! Again my heart and my prayers are with you in this most difficult time!

I had the pleasure of meeting Austin once through my grandson, who was a good friend of his.He was very polite and really nice.
