Barbara Christine Sleboda Bogdon died Friday evening at Wilkes-Barre General Hospital following a one-month illness.

Born in Milford, Del., on Feb. 17, 1949, she was the daughter of the late Anthony and Eleanor Maloney Sleboda. Barbara graduated from West Hazleton High School in 1967 and graduated from Empire Beauty School. She was proprietor of Barbara's Beauty Salon, Lantern Lane, Conyngham. She also taught at beauty schools in Bellefonte and Williamsport. She worked in retail for 15 years and at Aegis telemarketing. Barbara loved her family, her cats and her home. She will be loved and missed by all who loved her.
Surviving are a son, James Gidosh, Wilkes-Barre; a daughter, Trish Gidosh; a granddaughter, Caitlin Rose Gidosh, Conyngham; a sister, Margaret Avery and husband, Norman, Santa Clarita, Calif.; a niece, Mary Lou Banuelos; a nephew, Daniel Avery; and several other relatives.
Barbara was also preceded in death by an infant daughter, Jennifer.
The funeral will be Monday at 9:30 a.m. from Harman Funeral Homes & Crematory Inc. (East) 669 W. Butler Drive, Drums, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 in St. John Bosco Church, Conyngham. Burial will follow in St. John the Baptist Cemetery, Exeter.
