Bernard F. Skibinski Jr., 78, of Sayre, died Tuesday morning in Guthrie Robert Packer Hospital, Sayre. He is survived by his wife, the former Ann Tuly. The couple celebrated 57 years of marriage on Jan. 14.

Born in Scranton, he was the son of the late Bernard F. Sr. and Agnes O'Connor Skibinski, and before retirement, he worked for Sikorsky Aircraft as a technical representative for 40 years. During his years with Sikorsky Aircraft, he traveled extensively and had numerous assignments, such as residing in Hawaii during the Vietnam War and being assigned to the White House during the Carter administration, overseeing the Marine One helicopters. After retirement, he and his wife settled in Sayre, where he enjoyed golfing and was very active in the golf community and Country Club.
He also enjoyed traveling and visiting his children and their families. He will be sadly missed by all who knew him.
The family wishes to thank the doctors, nurses and staff of the Paul Gerry Dialysis Unit for their care and compassion during Bernard's illness.
Also surviving are children, Bernard F. III, Arlington, Va.; Patricia Adams, Kintbury, England; Maria Skibinski, Charleston, S.C.; Joseph N., Bristow, Va.; Sherry Chas, Reston, Va.; and Jeanne Ratcliff, New York City; nine grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
He was also preceded in death by five sisters and one brother.
The funeral will be Saturday in St. Mary's Church, Chestnut Street, Dunmore, with Mass at 9:30 a.m. Interment, All Saints Cemetery, Hollisterville.
Friends may call Saturday from 8:30 until the time of Mass at the church.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Paul Gerry Dialysis Unit at Robert Packer Hospital, 1 Guthrie Square, Sayre, PA 18840.
