Bernard P. Sepkowski of Scranton died Tuesday at Mercy Hospital.

Born in Scranton, son of the late Bernard and Mary Stankevich Sepkowski, he was a member of St. Ann's Basilica, Scranton. He was educated in Scranton public schools and graduated from West Scranton High School. A member of Local 120 labor union, he was employed by HarperCollins prior to retirement.

Bernard enjoyed fishing and target shooting. He was a loving father, grandfather and brother who will be deeply missed. He also was a great socializer with friends.

Surviving are a son, Paul R. Sepkowski, Carlisle; a daughter, Christine Stambaugh and husband, Steven B., Reading; two grandchildren, Brynn Rose Stambaugh and Marley Sara Stambaugh; a brother, John Sepkowski, Scranton; two sisters, Delores Bixler, Florida; and Mary Ann Elko, New Jersey; nieces, nephews and cousins.

He also was preceded in death by a sister, Helen Simon.

The funeral will be Friday at 9:30 a.m. in the Thomas J. Hughes Funeral Home Inc., 1240 St. Ann's St., Scranton, with Mass of Christian Burial at 10 in St. Ann's Basilica. Interment, SS. Peter and Paul Cemetery, Taylor. Friends may call today, 6 to 8 p.m.
