Bernice M. Rutsky, 91, of Dickson City, died Saturday at the VNA Hospice at Geisinger Community Medical Center, Scranton. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Rutsky, in 1950.

Born in Dickson City, daughter of the late Andrew and Anna Sobolowsky Kownaski, she was a member of St. Mary's Visitation Church, Dickson City, and graduated from Dickson City High School. Before retirement, she worked at Ricci's Furniture, Dickson City.
She was a loving and caring mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She took great pride in her home, and enjoyed her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends.
Surviving are a daughter, Karen Wesneski and husband, Paul, Dickson City; grandchildren, Jeff Wesneski and wife, Dara, Wescosville; Brad Wesneski and wife, Kristin, Greenfield Twp.; Brian Wesneski and wife, Svetlana, Thailand; and Paula Wesneski, at home; great-grandchildren, Anthony Pittara and Dylan and Magnus Wesneski; nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by her sisters, Angeline Marcinkiewicz, Helen Ezepchick and Jean Marchese; and brothers, Joseph and Walter Kownaski and Dr. Anthony Vincent.
The funeral will be Friday at 10:30 a.m. from the Frank T. Mazur Funeral Home Inc., 601 Dundaff St., Dickson City, with Mass at 11 at St. Patrick's Church, Olyphant. Interment St. Mary's Cemetery, Dickson City.
