Bonnie Wydick Oldham, 68, of Shavertown, died Friday at Hospice of the Sacred Heart, Dunmore, after a long-fought battle with ovarian cancer. She was the wife of Warren R. Oldham, to whom she was married 46 years.

Born in Harrisburg, Bonnie was a daughter of the late Peter J. and Helen Dudinyak Wydick.

She was a graduate of Cardinal O'Hara High School, Springfield. She earned a Bachelor of Arts from Chestnut Hill College and a Master of Library Science from Kutztown University. She also received a Master of Science in organizational management from Misericordia University.

Bonnie was an associate professor at the University of Scranton, serving as the information literacy coordinator at the university's Weinberg Memorial Library up until her retirement in May 2017. Before joining the faculty at Scranton, she held the position of automated service coordinator for the Luzerne County Library System based at the Osterhout Free Library in Wilkes-Barre. She also worked at Misericordia University as a public services librarian.

Bonnie was a member of the Pennsylvania Library Association. She served a term as chair of the College & Research Division and was a recipient of the association's Certificate of Merit. She was a former member of the League of Women Voters and served two terms as president of the LWV of Lackawanna County.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her daughter, Lynn Delaney and her husband, Donald, Ashburn, Va.; son, Geoffrey Oldham and his wife, Kelly, Lewisburg; and son, Commander Douglas W. Oldham, USN, Hanford, Calif. Also surviving are her sister, Mary Ellen Lowery, Philadelphia; and nephews, Michael and Matthew Lowery.

She is also preceded in death by her nephew, Luke Lowery.

Funeral services will be Wednesday at noon from the Harold C. Snowdon Funeral Home Inc., 140 N. Main St., Shavertown. Friends may call Wednesday from 11 a.m. until time of service.

Bonnie expressed her wishes that, in lieu of flowers, you please consider a gift to the "Bonnie W. Oldham Weinberg Memorial Library Research Endowment Fund" in care of: the University of Scranton, Office of University Advancement, 800 Linden St., Scranton, PA 18510. This prize, which Bonnie helped develop, was inaugurated by the Weinberg Memorial Library in 2011 and is designed to recognize excellence in research projects that show evidence of significant knowledge of the methods of research and the information gathering process and the use of library resources, tools and services.
