Brenda Makala-Singer of Justus succumbed Friday, November 30, 2012, after a courageous and lengthy battle with the cancer known as Mesotheleoma. She would have celebrated her 52nd birthday on December 10, 2012.
The Guest Book is expired.
Brenda was the daughter of Daniel J. Siniawa and Barbara Siniawa Costello. Loving mother and wife, she leaves behind four children, Eric, Amanda, Brandon and Brittany; and her husband, Barrie Singer. Brenda had five siblings, Kathy Troiani, Barbara Zinsky, Daniel Siniawa ll, Pamela Davis and Dale Siniawa.
Brenda, for 10 years along with her partner Ellen Goosey, owned and operated "That Finishing Touch" in Clarks Summit.
Brenda was known for above and beyond heartfelt generosity. During the flood in September 2011, she organized a drive that raised money, procured food, clothing and furniture. She arranged for a truck and then went out distributing to those in need. That is only one of the many deeds of "Heart" Brenda performed throughout her lifetime. Such was her character and love for all people.
At the time of her death, she was surrounded by family and friends.
A memorial to her life will be celebrated today, December 6, 2012, at the Parker Hill Church, Clarks Summit Campus, 607 North Abington Road, promptly at 6 p.m.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers donations be made to Penn Mesotheleoma Patient Care Program, payable to Trustees of University of Pa. Mailed to: Natalie Reznick, Asst. Director of Development, Penn Medicine Office of Development, 3535 Market St., Suite 750, Philadelphia, PA 19104. Cremation will take place at Maple Hill Crematory, Archbald, PA.
