Bruce Semon 36, of Peckville, died Wednesday afternoon at Geisinger Community Medical Center.

Born in Scranton, son of Bruce and Dorothy Ceccarelli Semon, he graduated from Valley View High School, class of 1993, and received a Bachelor of Science degree in exercise physiology at Pennsylvania State University. He completed his teacher certification at Marywood University in health and physical education and his Master's Degree in classroom technology from Wilkes University. He resided most of his life in Peckville, having lived in Archbald for a number of years. He was a member of Christ the King Parish, St. Thomas Aquinas Church, Archbald, and a member of the Pennsylvania State Alumni Organization.
He was a kind and loving son, brother, grandson, uncle, nephew, cousin and friend, who was very giving and compassionate and his genuine love for his family and friends can only be outshined by how dearly they will miss him. He was an avid Penn State fan.
Also surviving are a maternal grandmother, Nancy Ceccarelli, Jessup; a sister, Carla Margotta and husband, Louis, Jessup; a niece and godchild, Nina Margotta; several aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was also preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Carlo Ceccarelli; and paternal grandparents, Michael and Leona Semon.
The funeral will be Monday from the James M. Margotta Funeral Home, 1019 Main St., Peckville, with Mass at 9:30 a.m. at St. Thomas Aquinas Church, Archbald. Interment, St. John's Cemetery, Jessup.
