Bruna Cruciani Evans of Scranton died Saturday, March 30, 2013, at the Regional Hospital of Scranton following an illness. Her husband is Kenneth Evans.

Born in Scranton, she was the daughter of the late Venero and Josephine Altieri Cruciani. A graduate of Scranton Central High School and Mercy Hospital School of Nursing, she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from Misericordia University. She was employed for a number of years as a Patient Safety Officer and Patient Advocate by Mercy Hospital, and also was an instructor for the Mercy School of Nursing.

Bruna was a kind and caring person always placing others ahead of herself. She was a natural born caregiver, and she loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to doctors Anees Fogley, Richard Emanuelson, Ajay Shetty and Henry Yeager, also the entire staff an 8th Floor East at Regional Hospital of Scranton.

She was a member of St. Lucy's Church and volunteered a lot of her time at St. Lucy's and also the Asbury United Methodist Church.

Also surviving are a stepson, J.W. Evans and wife, Kathleen; stepdaughter, Julie Hunter and husband, Scott; four grandchildren, Fiona and Kate Evans, and Cole and Noelle Hunter, all of Scranton; two sisters-in-law, Jean Cibik, Scranton; and Joan Jones and husband, Tom, Forty Fort; several cousins.

A brother, Romeo Cruciani, preceded her in death.

The funeral will be conducted on Friday from the Patrick F. Guido Funeral Home, 120 S. Main Ave., with Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. in St. Lucy's Church, 949 Scranton St. Interment, Cathedral Cemetery.

Friends may call today, 4 to 7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Lucy's Church, 949 Scranton St., Scranton, PA 18504; or to the Asbury United Methodist Church, 720 Delaware St., Scranton, PA 18509.
