Calvin G. Steinetz, 81, a lifelong resident of Scranton, died Monday afternoon at Geisinger Community Medical Center after an illness.

Born in Scranton, son of the late Edward and Ida Ranke Steinetz, he was a veteran of the Korean War, serving in the Army. Before retirement, he was self-employed as a truck driver. He was a loving brother and uncle who will be dearly missed by his family.

Surviving are a brother, Robert Steinetz, St. Petersburg, Fla.; a sister, Verna Bednarek, Scranton; several nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.

He was also preceded in death by two sisters, Vera L. Seip and Grace Wenzel; and a brother, Chester Steinetz.
