Carl J. "Chip" Kaetzel, 60, a former resident of Scranton, died Jan. 21 at Regional Hospice, Scranton, after an illness. Married for more than 37 years, he and his wife, Sharon Jacques Kaetzel, celebrated their wedding anniversary in November.

Born in Scranton, he was the son of the late Carl and Grace Dixon Kaetzel. Carl was a graduate of West Scranton High School, class of 1970, and Johnson School of Technology. Before retirement, he had owned and was employed in the stone quarry industry for many years. Carl was a member of Acre Lake Baptist Church.

He had a great sense of humor and loved his family and being outdoors, hunting and fishing.

He is also survived by two sons, Carl and wife, Cindy, Dupont; and Jason and wife, Brianne, Scranton, and their daughter, Nora Kaetzel.

In accordance with Carl's wishes, cremation was at Maple Hill. A memorial service is scheduled for Saturday at noon in the Donahue Funeral Home, 303 S. Main Ave., Scranton, with Pastor Dave Twiss of the Assembly of God officiating.

The family will greet friends from 10 a.m. until the time of service.
