Carmine E. Armenti, 97, formerly of North Brunswick, N.J., and a resident of Clifford Twp. since 2005, died Monday morning at the Forest City Nursing Home.

Born July 7, 1915, in New Brunswick, N.J. he was the son of the late Antonio and Mary Sabina Armenti. He was a former member of St. Mary of Mount Virgin Church in New Brunswick and was a retired electrician for I.B.E.W., Local 456 in North Brunswick. He was an army veteran of World War II.
An avid golfer, he was a devoted father, grandfather and great-grandfather who cherished his family.
He is survived by a daughter, Pamela Shiffner and husband, William III, Greenfield Twp.; two grandchildren, Stephanie and Alexandra Shiffner; a great-granddaughter, Carmella Allegar; several nieces and nephews
He was also preceded in death by five brothers, Daniel, Vittorio, Giorgio, Luigi and Domenico Armenti; and three sisters, Vera Covino, Josephine Parillo and Jean Nicotra.
A memorial Mass will be celebrated Saturday at 11 a.m. in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 15 Fallbrook St., Carbondale. Cremation arrangements have been entrusted to the Shifler-Parise Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Clifford.
