Carolyn J. Vidota, 71, Dunmore, died Sunday afternoon at Abington Manor in Clarks Summit. She and her husband, Joseph Stanley Vidota Jr., married July 31, 1959.

Born in Scranton, daughter of the late Gerald and Madelyn Megela Shoemaker, she attended Scranton Technical High School and was a member of SS. Anthony & Rocco Parish in Dunmore. She had worked for several years at Elby's Family Restaurant and Franklin Family Restaurant, both in Dunmore.

Surviving are a son, Joseph S. Vidota III, Bradenton, Fla.; a daughter, Dorothy (Vidota) Chow and husband, Alex, Denville, N.J.; a brother, Johnny Joe Nestor, Scranton; six grandchildren, Karissa, Lauren, Duncan, Malcolm, Alex Joseph and Camille; a great-grandchild, Logan; several nieces and nephews.

She was also preceded in death by a sister, Madelyn Megela; and two brothers, Charles and Paul Cramer.

The funeral will be Wednesday at 1 p.m. at the Carlucci-Golden-DeSantis Funeral Home Inc., 318 E. Drinker St., Dunmore.

Friends may call Wednesday from 11 a.m. until time of service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Albright Memorial Library, 500 Vine St., Scranton, PA 18503.
