Charles "Chick" E. Bennett, 90, of Taylor, died Wednesday evening at Allied Skilled Nursing Center. He was preceded in death by his wife, who was the love of his life, Rose M. Reilly, on Feb. 11, 2005. They had been married 56 years.

Born in Scranton on Dec. 17, 1922, son of the late Luman and Stella Rosluck Bennett, he was a 1940 graduate of Scranton Technical High School. Before retirement, Chick was employed for 45 years as a computer operator at International Correspondence Schools. He was an active member of the Green Ridge Primitive Methodist Church, where he proudly served as a trustee and various other titles.
Surviving are a niece, Joan Millan, Scranton, and her children, William and wife, Mary of Dalton; Cheryl and husband, Michael, Moscow; Michael and wife, Ann, Falls; and Steven and wife, Jennifer, Clarks Summit and their families; several additional nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
He was also preceded in death by three brothers, Robert, Donald and James Bennett.
The funeral will be Saturday at 11 a.m. in the Semian Funeral Home, 704 Union St., Taylor, with the Rev. Charles Beth, officiating. Interment, Forest Hill Cemetery, Dunmore.
