Charles J. Castelli, a resident of Scott Twp., died Saturday afternoon at Moses Taylor Hospital. His widow is the former Daurice Marcinko Castelli. They were married Aug. 14, 1998.

Born in Archbald, he was the son of the late Charles and Antonia Alessi Castelli. Charles was a graduate of Archbald High School and a member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, Peckville. He was a production control manager for Weston, now Lockheed Martin, in Archbald; and ITT, in Culpepper, Va. He was an Army veteran, serving in World War II, and a charter member of VFW Shopa-Davey Post 6082 in Peckville; and the American Legion Ambrose Revels Post 328, Archbald. He was also one of the original owners and operators of Castelli Pizza in Peckville.

Charles loved golf, traveling with his wife and spending time with his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He will be missed by all who had the pleasure to know him.

Surviving are daughters, Mary Black and husband, Jim, Scott Twp.; Ann Marie Sarnoski, Carbondale; and Lillian Smith, Peckville; a stepdaughter, Lori Ann Rager, Taylor; a son, Charles J. Castelli, Scott Twp.; nine grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; a brother, Dominick Castelli and wife, Katie, Peckville; nieces and nephews; and his father-in-law, Paul Marcinko, Old Forge, with whom he had a special bond.

Also preceding him in death was his first wife, Alice Schemel Castelli, on Oct. 20, 2010; and two sisters, Antoinette Cumbie and Isabella Bonnani.

The funeral will be Wednesday from the Louis J. Rapoch Funeral Home, 420 Church St., Archbald, with Mass of Christian Burial at 8:40 in Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, Willow Street, Peckville. Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Montdale.

Viewing will be Tuesday from 4 to 7 p.m.
