Charles M. Galloway, 68, of Peckville, died Saturday in the VNA Hospice Unit at Geisinger Community Medical Center after a short illness. He was preceded in death by his wife of 45 years, Rose Ann Galloway, on Aug. 24.
The Guest Book is expired.
Born in New Jersey, he was the son of the late Wendell Phillip and Dorothy Collins Galloway. He graduated with an MBA from Fairleigh Dickinson University. Before retirement, he worked in the printing business for more than 30 years.
Supporting his family was his lifelong goal and passion. He was an extraordinary man; truly one of a kind. He was a loving and devoted husband, father and friend. Most of all, he was an amazing grandpa to Zac Swartout, Madison Swartout and Jadyn Swartout of Peckville. He spent his days being a part of everything they did. He lived to listen to Zac sing or watch him perform; to watch Madison do gymnastics; and to cheer Jadyn on, whether on the football field or on the basketball court. He will be missed by them beyond measure.
He is also survived by daughters, Cindy Galloway Dastgir, Scranton; and Deb Galloway Swartout and husband, Aaron, Peckville; a son John Galloway, Bronx, N.Y.; and brother, Lynn Galloway of Las Cruces, N.M.
He was also preceded in death by a sister, Linda Picnally.
Funeral and interment will be private at the convenience of the family.
The viewing will be Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the James M. Margotta Funeral Home, 1019 Main St., Peckville. For directions or online condolences, go to www.mar gotttafuneralhomes.com.
