Charlotte Irene Johannes, 80, of Honesdale, died Wednesday at Wayne Woodlands Manor. Her husband, Milton Johannes, died in 1986. The couple married on Nov. 28, 1953.

Born Oct. 22, 1933, in Honesdale, daughter of the late Albert and Irene Davis Stinnard, she was a graduate of Honesdale High School and later worked at Katz Underwear Factory, Rite Aid and the Miracle Market. In 2003, she retired from Allied Services.
Charlotte was an active member of St. John the Evangelist Parish in Honesdale, where she served as a Eucharistic minister. She also was a member of the Perpetual Eucharistic Adoration.
She was surrounded by her children at the time of her death.
The family would like to thank Cindy Williams for her care and friendship, along with Commonwealth Hospice nurses and aides and the staff at Wayne Woodlands Manor.
Surviving are a son, Lynn Johannes and wife, Joy, Honesdale; daughters, Lisa Coons and husband, Tom, Waymart; and Kellie Shannon and companion, Jennifer Serge, Honesdale; a brother, Garold "Sonny" Stinnard, Boyertown; six grandsons; two great-grandsons; nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by her brothers, Floyd, Edward, Eugene and Lester; an infant brother, Donald; and a sister, Margaret Lawrence.
A memorial service will be Saturday at noon at Hessling Funeral Home Inc., 428 Main St., Honesdale. Private interment will be at Darling Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 10 to service time.
